The Umbrella Project

Uniting children through creativity

The Umbrella Project is a volunteer nonprofit organization founded by Hilda Brown that uses art to empower young people worldwide. Dedicated to uniting children throughout the world through creativity, the Umbrella Project develops self-esteem by teaching and inspiring children to personally make a difference on the planet. Using white umbrellas and rainbow-colored, non-toxic waterproof markers, children are encouraged to portray images of peace, healing, and love on the umbrellas.

For the past two years, the Umbrella Project has graciously donated the materials to the Primary School arts education. Umbrellas designed and decorated by the children of NSWAS are available for purchase. Proceeds go directly to the educational projects of the community.
